"Love means
you never have to say
your sorry"
This is a stupid cliche.
It presumes that
people in love
are acmes of perfection.
No one is perfect.
We all belong to
the weakened human race.
Marriage does not
shed human nature.
Because of human limitations
we are prone to foolish mistakes
We all need erasers on pencil.
For human beings
love means one must be ready
and willing at all times to say
I am sorry
I am sorry for my insensitivity
I am sorry for my preoccupation
I am sorry for my absurdities
I am sorry for my contradictions
What makes it so beautiful is
where there is true love
there is ready forgiveness.
If you can say
I am sorry
and I can say
I am sorry,
OUR LOVE has a chance
TO GROW.
